Here are some photos of a podium that I built one Saturday a month or so ago. You can see where I didn't take the time to sand out all the glue. I was trying to et it ready for Sunday morning.
The glue kept the stain from coloring the maple.
From a few feet away you can not see the problem. However, I will not be making this mistake again. I will plan more time for the sanding and finnishing.
In this photo you can see the flutes the I put in the front. I think this dressed up the front. I wanted to up some trim around the base of the post to give it a little more dressing but time ran out.
